Atheists Have No Moral Decency
Recently, I had the opportunity to moderate a debate between a Christian and an atheist concerning the topic of What Is Optimal For Mental Health: Christianity or Atheism? The debate went well and I believe that the Christian made some solid points concerning the topic that the atheist could not refute. The atheist did not even attempt to refute what the Christian said concerning the topic but instead opted to talk about everything else under the sun except the topic. As the moderator, I admit that I could have done a better job at keeping him on topic, but I felt like I should give him a lot of leeway for the sake of fairness. Afterward, I wanted to debate the atheist on another topic and he originally agreed. However, when I told him I would only debate him if he showed his face, he became very volatile and disrespectful. He even began talking trash about my wife. Needless to say, I told him that the debate is no longer on the table until he agrees to show his face and apologize for talking trash about my wife. This caused him to become even more disrespectful toward me, my friends, and God Himself. All of this has caused me to think more about the moral indecency of atheists because this is not the first time I have encountered an atheist like this. It seems like when one becomes an atheist, they throw out all moral decency. This is to be expected because Romans 1:18-20 tells us,
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse."
It is because of this text that we know that there is really no such thing as an atheist. All people know that God exists, yet people suppress the truth in unrighteousness. Why do they do this? After all, if everyone knows God exists, then why wouldn't everyone worship and love Him? It is because these people hate Him and love their own sin and darkness. As a result of this suppression of the truth, these people lose all moral decency. They do this because they no longer think they will be held accountable for their behavior. They actually believe that they will get away with their wickedness forever! They do not retain the knowledge of God in their minds and because of that, they decide to act out their wickedness to its full. As Romans 1:28-32 says,
"And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them"
As we can see from this text when one rejects the truth of God, it leads to all manner of degeneracy. These people are murderers in their hearts, haters of God and man, inventors of evil, and so much more. Furthermore, the text says that they actually know they are doing wrong and deserve to die, but that they give approval to those who go along with their degenerate behavior. I see this all the time in the Christian vs Atheist communities I belong to on Facebook. These people will mock and ridicule Christians instead of engaging them in rational dialogue. This is no surprise because their own leader, Richard Dawkins, once said that atheists need to mock and ridicule Christians and other religious people. These people are no longer willing to engage in mature and honest dialogue, but instead rather behave like immature little children. They do this because deep down they realize they do not have a logical worldview and that they have no defense before the Almighty God. So, what do I have to say to other Christians who come across these atheists? Do not engage with them because they are not interested in dialogue with you. All you need to do is share the Gospel with them and then pray for their salvation. It is up to the Lord to do the rest. And do not think that they will get away with their treachery forever. As Hebrews 9:27 says,
"And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment..."
God sees everything they are doing and one day they will have to give an account for all the wickedness they did while on this earth. On that day, they will not have an excuse to justify themselves. As for you, dear Christian, Romans 12:17-19 tells you,
"Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord'."
We must not avenge ourselves when atheists mock and ridicule us for our faith. As a matter of fact, Jesus tells us that when they do this, our reward will be great in heaven. We must always keep this in mind and continue showing them love and peace because when we do this, we are "heaping burning coals onto their head" (Romans 12:20). I understand that this is easier said than done because atheists can get pretty personal with their attacks, but we must not act in the flesh. We must remember who our true enemy is and that these people are blinded by him. As Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:12,
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places"
Our enemy is the devil and his minions, not these atheists. We must always keep this in mind when we interact with them because our Lord is watching from above. He is not pleased whenever we retaliate against one of them out of anger. Remember, we are called to endure suffering as good soldiers of Christ and to follow in His steps. What did Jesus do when the Roman soldiers were mocking Him and the Pharisees spat on Him? He prayed to The Father asking Him to forgive them. We must adopt this same mindset. I know it will be very difficult and in our own strength, it will be impossible. However, by God's power, all things are possible.

Nice set of lies, dear. Happily, there are indeed atheists and you are one of them, sicen you are quite sure that no god but yours exists. Thus you are an atheist when it comes to Allah, Zeus, etc.
ReplyDeleteIt's always so sweet when christians feel they must lie in their desperatoin to claim that everyone "really" agrees with them when we don't.
Romans 1 is the same claim any cult makes, that their god exists and that reality is evidence for it. Alas, not one of you cultists can show your claims are true. The lies from you that we suposedly love "sin" and "darkness" are the typical nonsense that christians spew, since you christians can't agree on what your god supposedly considers a sin, and you can't show your imaginary satan existing either.
Us atheists don't believe in your god since there is no evidence to support its existence.
We aren't murderers or any of the other things you lie about. And it's rather pathetic that a supposed therapist has to lie so much. I feel sorry for anyone ignorant enough to have fallen into your trap.
You also lie when you claim that atheists don't engage you in rational dialogue. You make this lie since you fail at being able to reject atheist points. This has been demonstrated repeatedly from you when you refuse to explain what kind of christianity you follow and can't define what "biblical christianity" actually is in your estimation.
Mocking a cult is no prophecy, just what happens to cults that have nothing to support their ignorant and harmful nonsense.
Hilariously, you don't approach non-christians with love and peace since you choose to lie about us. So much for "piling coals". I've always loved that nonsense as if atheists would find someone who actually shows love and peace find that offensive and irritating.
one can't. This is a typical bit of baseless nonsense from a christian who has nothing.
